We never store your photos
Attendance is verified using biometric data — a face template. When you enroll or punch, your face image is used once, in memory, to compute the template (a one-way list of numbers) and is then discarded immediately. That template cannot be turned back into a photo, is stored on our own servers, is never shared with any third party, and is used only to confirm it is really you.
1. Who we are
Velo6hr is an employee attendance and workforce app. Your employer uses it to record your attendance, verify it with face recognition, and — where enabled — confirm you are at an approved work location.
Your employer is the controller of your attendance records; Velo6hr operates the technology on their behalf.
2. What we collect
- Biometric face data (a face template) — a numeric representation derived from your face, not the photo itself, and it cannot be reversed into your photo.
- Attendance — punch in/out time, type, and shift.
- Location — a single GPS reading taken only at the moment you punch in or out; we do not track your location continuously.
- Profile — name, employee code, department, designation, work email and phone (provided by your employer).
- Device — a device id and push-notification token.
- We do not collect your contacts, photo library, browsing history, or anything unrelated to attendance.
3. Location
Velo6hr reads your location only at the moment you punch in or out, to confirm you are at an approved work site. It does not track or record your location in the background, during your shift, or at any other time, and it runs no continuous or background location tracking. You can revoke location access in your device settings at any time.
4. How we use it
- To verify and record your attendance punches.
- To confirm your work location where required.
- To show you your shifts, status, and notices.
- To keep the service secure and detect spoofing.
5. Consent
We process your face data on the basis of your explicit consent, given when you enroll. You may withdraw consent at any time; your employer should offer an alternative attendance method where required by law.
6. Who we share with
We never sell, rent, or trade your data. Your biometric face data (face template) is not shared with any third party and is never sent to any external or cloud face-recognition service — all face processing runs on our own servers. We share other data only with your employer, with the infrastructure providers that host and secure our own servers under strict contracts (they do not receive your face template for their own use), and with authorities where legally required.
7. How long we keep it
- Face template — until you leave or withdraw consent, then deleted.
- Attendance & location logs — for your employer's retention period.
- Captured images — not retained; discarded immediately.
8. How we protect it
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS).
- Signed, authenticated backend services with replay protection.
- Least-privilege access, scoped to what is needed.
- Irreversible templates instead of photos.
- Face templates stored on our own dedicated servers that we operate and control — no third-party face-recognition APIs.
9. Your rights
- Access the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data, including your face template.
- Withdraw consent to face recognition.
- Complain to your data-protection authority.
